I don't know why it won't work for you. I just did it myself with version 4.6.1 and it worked for Windows 7. Did you hear that folks? It works for Windows 7!

The hurdle for Windows 7 is getting past the fact it won't let you save because you aren't an administrator (even if you are one). I used the Command window to get by this. I saved to a different directory and then deleted the file in the AM directory. Then right-click on the Command Window icon and select "Run as Adminstrator" and then use the copy command to copy the file back into the AM folder. Crazy...but it works. Now I need to update my games to load the icon to the desktop.

Sorry PanM. What version of AM are you using?

Could you post this specific issue in the Tech Support and Bugs forum? We need GM to see it. I don't understand why it won't work for you!

Try one test for me. Create a new project called something very, very simple like, "test". Then add 1 frame, add an icon from distribution options, and then go through the process with editing the iss file that is created. Be sure to save. After it compiles, run the setup and see if it adds an icon to your desktop.

I just want to remove any possible issues from having to change your project name when it had a hyphen and keep it simple.

Sorry I can't resolve this! :?

Worse case, zip the project files, upload it to a share server, and let me test the project..then we'll know if its the project or AM.....or you! :-)

Test folder and new problem

Postby PanM » Mon May 02, 2011 12:54 am

OK, R. when I have a chance, I will zip up the file and send to mediafire.

However, when I did test evidently (I am angry right now) I lost all my work.

The new sound on the smiley/frown and other corrections. I thought that AM saved the files automatically. Wow, why don't they have a save button.
Now, I still have the old executable with the old errors, but am unable to find the EduFun with corrections. Any ideas how to recover?

This is really bad for a program. Lots of work down the drain (for now anyway).........Angry. :(
