Blue Moon: The Lucium Project

Postby Vairon » Sat Apr 08, 2017 10:20 pm

Hi there!

I'm glad to announce my new solo project:

A bit of history:
Blue Moon: The Lucium Project is a project of "short" adventure/exploration game set in the world of the Black Cube series (http://www.theblackcube.fr). It was born from the friendship of two Icehouse Members, Simon Mesnard and Juanjo Barceló. We had the idea before the Black Cube Jam 2016, but it could only become a reality several months later. I'm a skilled user of the Unity game engine with some experience in the indie scene as a game developer (I'm the founder of Luminy Studios) and I have worked on various projects on my own. I have suggested this cooperative project to Simon, who eagerly accepted to write a scenario.

The game:
Blue Moon: The Lucium Project is a short first person adventure game. It is being developed with the Unity engine, in full 3D.

Story:
In 2057, a Terran astronaut came back from a mission on an alien spaceship. He could never prove that his story was true, but he had brought back a fragment from a Black Cube never seen before, and emitting strange radiations. The Terran space center (CSE) classified this discovery as top secret. After this event, several people were gathered by a government agency, and placed on a ship bound for Terra's neighboring planet, Mapk, and more specifically for its blue moon: Ytria. They were all working for the Lucium laboratory, and their researches were leaded by your sister, a brilliant scientist. A lot of money was invested in this project. However one year later, you have lost contact with her. It would seem that she and the others have never existed, so you decide to conduct your own investigation...

Main features:
- Explore Ytria in full 3D and detailed graphics made with Unity.
- Investigate about the researches of your sister, and discover the truth by gathering her diary.
- English voice acting for a better immersion.
- An original soundtrack by Python Blue.
- Discover the secrets of creation of the Blue Matter, a major evolution in the Terran technology.

The team:
The whole part of the development is being made by me - Juanjo - (including graphics and programming) but this project would have not been possible without the collaboration of several other people:
- Author Simon Mesnard: he has written and supervised the project for a matter of consistency with the rest of the Black Cube series.
- Music composer Python Blue: he is the person behind the wonderful sci-fi OST,
- Ilustrator John Carvajal and his girlfriend Britney: thanks to them we have an incredible voice acting in English (I am Spanish…)

In addition, The Icehouse collective (where I am a Member) supports me in many different ways.

This is the game with the best graphics that I've had the chance to "work" on (and I did nothing to help Juanjo, I only talked of the Black Cube world and added some limitations haha). It's impressive! You've made huge progress since we met here on the AM forums Juanjo. Very impressive 8)
