Hey everybody,
I have Bryce 5.5 and was just wondering if anybody had any advice for me to help me make 3d scenes. Mainly objects in scenes. When i try to make an object , for example something simple like a chair, it seems like it takes my hours to make just a chair. I've seen some really good scenes and details in games and i just wonder how people do it. It seems like it would take FOREVER. Please tell me how you guys do it...
Thanks for your input/help.

It is normal , it depend on the resolution of the picture, the details level, the number of polygons and the quantity of light reflection/refraction; by the hardware side depend on the speed and the numbers of CPU cores and the amount of RAM memory.
If there is the option, try to disable "raytracing" to speedup the render but remember that the final quality drops down. Else... be patient!

He's not talking about render time, he's talking about how to make objects like a chair in an easier way. Since Bryce only has Blocks, landscapes, etc. No objects available to really build with easy.

I'd say try Truespace... I'm not too good with it since it's sorta complicated. But they have a free old version you can use though.

hi jeff ,
welcome to the am forums
you have bryce, well there are plenty of free models at the
daz website www.daz3d.com as well of course as the ones you can buy.
they can be imported into bryce, placed and rendered.
It takes a while to learn how to model wireframes. bryce is great for
landscapes but is limited for modeling. You can look up some tutorials
on 3d modeling to get started. a good site is www.3dlinks.com
and there are many others. a good free program is www.wings3d.com.
Big studios have libraries that they use and people that have been
modeling for years. just learn the basics to get started.
boolean , lathes etc. youll be doin it in no time!
another low priced program fairly easy to learn , www.strata.com
good luck
