Here is another useful program for those (like me) that have trouble with understanding 3D design programs, I downloaded a FREE program called "Sweet Home 3D" to design the interiors of building I use in games.
The web site has several links to other sites on which you can get furniture models for the interiors. It is extremely easy to use and has some simple furniture item already built into the program (Its supposrt 3D models files: OBJ, LWS or 3DS).

Asfar as I know all models come under a " Free Art License "...(not sure exactly what that means).

You can try Google Sketchup. It's not only for interior, but also for exterior design. It works on OpenGL. Very powerfull and easy-to-use at the same time. You can also download a free version from here: http://sketchup.google.com/ and lots of ready objects from the sketchup 3d Warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/

I have tried using Google Sketch Up, Unfortunately I am somewhat ..

" 3D Challenged " ..

There isnt alot of programs available that have a "Drag and Drop" inetrface for easily creating " Areas " for a game. Most of what I have tried takes me hours just to build a single room, I dont mind taking time to decorate the room or choose the right textures for the room.

But I prefer to get the base work done easily without too much taxing on the old brain, after all the taxing part should be creating a great story line and puzzles for the game. Well thats just my opionion.
