How big of a video can I use?

Postby pennsteve » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:43 pm

I was thinking of making a tutorial to sell to people. I do a certain kind of painting and wanted to teach others how to do it. I figure I could make a demo to give out free and if they wanted to buy the full version they could pay me for it.

My question is, how big of a video file (in Mb) can I put on each frame?
Thanks

I think there 's no limitation, but big videos will make the game slow.

Agreed - and the download time will be much longer, too.
This might keep users away from downloading it - especially those with a dial-up connection.

Well I dont mean full length motion pictures lol.

I mean if I made an interactive type tutorial with small 3 or 4 minute clips on certain frames.

LOL....~ made me laugh..

You can if you want...just basically saying that the longer the video..the longer it takes to load..

This I can confirm..i have dial up and I can't watch any videos at all..U-tube or other wise..If its a small clip even i have to wait for it to go through at least 2times then I get to watch it choppy still..LOL>.

Which is why i mentioned HTML... it comes with AM and is useful for tuts..and its still somewhat slow for dial up users..but watchable for sure..

Not trying to discourage you...Probably won't be that bad..I guess it depends on the whole MB of the project...You could keep an eye on that as you make it..:)

Peace..

Broadband is becoming more and more availabe to people. I think a lot are switching to it. I dont think an exe file would be a problem for most people.

I'm not even sure if an html file would work for what i want to do.
