I created a very simple animation to promote the Adventure Maker engine in my games. I plan on putting it at the beginning when the game is first loading.

Ideally, it would be great if the gears turned 360 degrees in the animation, but it would require building it in 3D because the view of the gears is from an angle. So, if you any of you 3D animators feel compelled!!!!

For now, if anyone is interested in adding the one I created to your game, here it is:

 Updated!!!!!!

Note: MPEG-4 is considered the most efficient balance for size and quality.
WMV is second. AVI is a large file size but probably the most supported.

MPG-4 file (right-click and do a save as in order to download):

WMV file:

AVI file (large file)

I really like the animation! But, is it easy to make the logo to appear?

It's great this way too. So, you are giving it to anyone for using in their games?

Yes. This is for anyone to use that would like to.

To make the video appear. Create a frame just for this video. From the frame properties - Action tab, set it to play a video and I "stretch" the video to fit. I built the video for 1024x768, so if you use 800x600 it will still work if you set it to stretch. Now from the general tab, set it to transition to the next frame, either another video frame or the menu frame, and set the transition if you want. I use "0.1" for the delay...the video length will override the delay time.

When I have time, I'll show you how I would set it up. Basically, you want this and any other pregame video to display ONLY when the executable is launched. After the user gets to the Main Menu, then it should always return to the Menu from within the game. Basically, I create a "Start Here" frame, with code that has a variable to act as a switch. If the user has NOT been to the menu, then play the video frames, else go to the frame directly. The switch is changed when a video is play, so if you have a hotspot to quit in the game, it will go to the start up frame which will then go to the Menu and not play the videos.

I'm going to put this when the game starts, after the animated logo from Rainbow Entertainment. After this I would like to put the support logos: from Hick Chick Games, Shadow Hunter etc.

I have lot on my mind right now and I think the newest game will be way more professional that the others. But, it will take time... :)

I added other file types that are much more efficient than AVI files.
