Referral Program

Postby 0Shocker0 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 11:09 pm

Has thought of a referral program been considered for AdventureMaker.com?

Edit:
I know there are banners users can put on their website but wonder if a page visitor clicking it would add a referral bonus point to the member's account.

Well, it's up to GM to decide upon such a question, but nevertheless I would like to share my opinion about referral programms:

1. From my experience as staff member on several forums, I can say that referrals are very often used in a spammish way.

2. Referrals make many people suspicious because they are often used as intrusive ad. This can lead to a rather disadvantageous impression of the product.

I think if there was such a referral system I'd have tenthousands of referral points by now. :P
However I personally wouldn't make use of such a referral program: I add a link to AM because I like it and find it a phantastic tool to create games, and not in order to earn referral points.

Good point. Most of the time when I find links on someones homepage to a gaming site for example, I'll tend to copy only the game site portion and leave out the rest and paste into the address bar the gaming site address only. So I see where your coming from.
