Question about picture placement...

Postby Merrie » Wed Jun 25, 2008 2:27 am

Here is what I would like to do:
In each frame of my game, the player has a character picture up on the left hand corner.

At the beginning of the game, I would like them to be able to pick between four female or four male pictures, when they pick one the picture will transfer to that hotspot in the upper left hand corner and be shown on all frames.

I know part of the command would be action.loadapicture, and Runtime Frames Merging, but Im not sure how to put this together.

Thank you for the help.

Not a problem at all, I am thrilled to have the help. I've been having a heck of a time trying to decide 'what' type of game I want to make and what engine to use, goodness that is a nightmare for a starting developer.

For a 3D engine I took a class in GameCore (Use to be Beyond Virtual) but it is still in Alpha so has some bugs, and the learning to create your 3D models what a mess, and to purchase or hire someone is very expensive.

My dream was to make something like http://www.createorconquer.com/ but trying to put together a PHP game for someone that is more artist them programmer went right over my head.

As I have said elsewhere, I understand the syntax but putting it together is where I get stuck. I feel if I can just master one language I would get over this hump.
