New user.....will it play on my site?

Postby pennsteve » Wed Aug 06, 2008 4:05 pm

I downloaded the trial version and am learning to use it. I still need to learn how to use variables and how to be able to use a key to open a door, but I will search other posts for instructions on that.

Before I buy the full version, my questions are.......

How can I download a game that I have created onto my website?

If someone visits my site to play my game, can they play it right on my site or do they have to download it to their computer?

If anyone can answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You :)

Welcome to the forums. :? Yes, you can, and yes, people have to download it on to the computer. I'm sorry if I sound A little mean.
My sig changes more often than Doctor Who (see your national BBC channel) regenarates into new melancholy actors. Oh look, Matt Smith! Gerard Butler! Colin Mochrie! That wolf from Twilight: New Moon!

If you use the export to html feature, they can play it directly from your site too, but it disables some other features...

Welcome to the forums pennsteve :)

I think that most of your questions have been answered already.

I think you mean "upload" :)
It depends on your website and the control panel that you have. It can be different if you have a shared server, or use Freewebs for example.
You can upload an .am1 file just the same way you would upload an image.

So basically, if I add this to my website (not freewebs, its a yahoo website that I pay for), and want others to be able to play it there, which features will be disabled.

I dont want to pay for this software and find out that its totally useless for what I want to do with it.

Oh, by the way, I mainly want to make point and click games.

It would be a limited game if it is in html format.
When you use the free version you can not make exe files but use what is called the am1 file that users would download.
They have to download the AM game maker to play those games were when you have the full version you can build an exe file of your game that they can download and play on their computer.
Check the overview page to learn more.
