ATTN: Error: Missing Mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependancies

Postby Astinkie_Diver_Maharaja » Thu Aug 28, 2008 5:00 am

Greetings Forumers,
I am using Adventure Maker Free, (I used to own a previous version way back when).

I am experiencing problems on my Windows Vista, Adventure Maker console (applicaiton).

Yes I am using Vista x86.

My problem requires that I register an activex called Mscomctl.ocx but even though I have registered it several times: Both with the vbscript found on the forum and with the runtime application found with windows...

I cannot use Adventure Maker beause it complains that Mscomctl.ocx is missing or invallid and then shuts down before I can modify my projects...

What can I do to fix this error!?!

Please contact me on Msn if you want to give further asistance or association!

Also post helpfull replies ;)

Have you tried reading this, I don't know if this will help or not..:)

Reply back if that doesn't suit what u are looking for..
Not sure if it applies to Vista, doesn't say...But i assume it applies to Windows..:?

In the mean time I'll see if i cant find something else as well, that might apply to Vista..:)

Also, make sure, you download the latest version of AM..to your machine..the Newest version is 4.5.2

Heres an article you can look at that applies to this active control. it usually has to do with updating drivers as well....~

You can find it HERE

Hi,

You can try to manually copy (into c:/windows/system32/) and to manually register (with regsvr32.exe) the copy of Mscomctl.ocx that you can download from:
http://www.adventuremaker.com/systemfiles/
