Animated GIF sequence player--Hotspot Question

Postby mercedes » Sun Aug 31, 2008 9:52 am

Hi there..:)
I tried to find these..i apologize if its already here or If already asked.

I am looking for something like lights flashing..small ones..on their own though..without hitting a hotspot...there is probably animated ones..but am unable to find any:(..if someone finds them..could they please direct me.
.Oh and will they work for transparency with the Gif Player? Does the Gif player allows for transparency..[I don't have AM in front of me..but thought to ask while i remembered..]

Another question~~
Is there a way to make a hotspot move say.. Pulsate..without clicking it..with code in another one ...and it make it move..but not change in size..just throb or pulsate..for say like 5 seconds.

I am still searching..so if i find anything..I will Edit post..:D

Thanks very Much~
Peace

Make a GIF of flashing lights, add it to a hotspot. Add no actions. If it isn't already, set the loop to 0 which means eternal loop. Voila, flashing lights! Use and download the newest version of GIF Animator. It supports transparency.

Mercedes, you can convert videos to gif animation using the tool made by microsoft, which you can find in lots of places (I've googled it to save you some time, find it here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/13212)

To move the hotspot and not resize it use
.Move x*15,y*15

create a procedure that moves the hotspot in the wanted places for the wanted time, then in the hotspot/frame properties (wherever you want to) add Action.Createtimedevent 1,"MyProcedure"

I don't intend to be a little rude, Lyberdoggy. But I believe GIF Maker is Microsoft Supported. Sorr if I was too rude.

It's called MICROSOFT GIF ANIMATOR. I don't know if it's supported or created by microsoft, but we usually say for example
Ati 3850 or Nvidia 9800 not Sapphire or XFX (even though the graphics cards are powered by Ati and Nvidia and built by other companies).

Anyways, the point is it is not mentioned else so, there isn't really a copyright violation

Yes, Microsoft GIF Animator was developed by Microsoft for older Windows versions. It isn't officially developed and supported anymore by Microsoft (it's sort of abandonware), but works reportedly (by users) on XP and even Vista, and is still available from third party websites :)

You can just make the procedure repeat itself using a timed event

just create a procedure like this:

Code: Select all
Sub Rumble hotspot(hotspotnum,setx,sety)
x=setx
y=sety
Hotspot(hotspotnum).Move x*15,y*15
Action.CreateTimedEvent 0.2,"Hotspot(hotspotnum).Move (x-5)*15,y*15", False
Action.CreateTimedEvent 0.4, "Hotspot(hotspotnum).Move (x+5)*15,y*15", False
Action.CreateTimedEvent 0.6,"Hotspot(hotspotnum).Move x*15,(y+5)*15", False
Action.CreateTimedEvent 0.8,"Hotspot(hotspotnum).Move x*15,(y-5)*15", False
end sub

Now create a timed event that repeats the sub and then another that removes the timedevent after some time.

Oh, I see, why did you not tell me at the time? :P I am quite busy with work right now; however, I will see what I can do for you. You still need them as GIFs right?

yes...i would need them as gifs...for the player plug in...cause it supports transparency...:D...Then i could play them in there...So if u want..u can separate each layer..if its easier..like if u make the sparkle 3 different views..u can send them as regular 3 different Gifs..and i can put them in player...Know what i mean..?---Its the player that plays them as the animation..so the layers need not be animations..:)

THanks..!!~ i appreciate that..:)

Peace~
