I have taken that into account Harvester and I know exactly what you mean, maybe I wasn't too clear...
I will be judging based on the
composition rather than the quality of the sound. By that I mean, whether you post it as MIDI, MP3 or WAV, it doesn't matter.
Whether you add effects... it doesn't matter.
All people entering must supply the original .mia file as proof that the song was created with AM.
I will accept a certain number of after-effects put on the music, but I will be judging based on the composition itself.
One thing I will not allow is people making a tiny segment of the song with MM and then sampling it together with songs made on other software. The song will be discarded as worthless for the competition.
The
whole song must be made with
Music Maker.
Therefore, if you choose to supply me with an MP3 or WAV, I should be able to open the .mia file and hear the exact same notes, melodies, tunes etc.
The only reason I allow the use of other software is because you can only make a 2 and 1/2 minute song with MM (120 bpm). If you would like to make a longer song, certain software allows you to put two midis together into another song.
The easiast thing to do would be to supply me with one of the three options (prefarably the first:)
> The final MIDI file and the origianl .mia file
> The final MP3 file and the original .mia file
> The final WAV file and the original .mia file
Either of those three is acceptable.
Basically, the bottom line is:
The whole song must have been
composed entirely with music maker and evidence must be provided of that fact. I allow the use of after-effects and conversion tools but they will not contribute to the final judging in any significant way. I'm looking for good compositions.
I hope that clears it up for you.
If you have any other issues please ask...
