Hi reneuend,
Well, the orientation is just not player-friendly
Don't worry too much about that, it takes much experience to create a game that is player-friendly (in terms of orientation, navigation, understanding what's going on etc.).
I'm also still learning a lot from player feedback on each game that I make. As a game creator you just know too much, and therefore it's not easy to take the perspective of a player who has no idea of anything
Hmmm, yeah, seen the roach, a calendar, cracker, string, but I can't pick them up.
Otherwise I've been clicking around and all I got were messages, lol
I'm often playing room escape and point-and-click games, and I usually do quite well.
Maybe in this case I just got a bit frustrated about the navigation (e.g. clicking on the right arrow brings you to another screen, then clicking on the left arrow to go back doesn't work because you bump in a wall), and my confusion about such things took away my ability to focus on finding items
I haven't given up, I saved it, but I needed a break.
I'll post more feedback if I can finish
And I think that for your first game you did well
