The Chapel

Postby Lyberodoggy » Fri Mar 07, 2008 2:50 pm

The Chapel is the second part of a games trilogy I want to create.
Here are some cocepts from our ex-designer (I 'm posting this, although this project is paused untill we finish the first part).

Panagiotis "saturn" Alexopoulos, a friend of mine and co-producer has added some color... Here's a very quickly done prevew of what the game's environment will possibly look like...

Hope you like it (though it's two times scanned and printed so the quality is very low...)

Very Nice artwork,

Is it just me or does that look like a trap door or pressure switch at the bottom of that door ??
My mother stated that she did not give birth to me, when I was 4 Yrs of age.

You can find a short demo of my current project (two frames, fully voiced over by Chromegloss) here:
http://www.fileshost.com/en/file/60971/The-Monk-Demo-exe.html

Here's the disclaimer for the voice overs.
Chromegloss

This voicework was recorded by Chromegloss using Chromegloss equipment and fully liscensed software. If you have any queries, please e-mail at: Chromegloss@hotmail.com...

*** Project Details ***

Voice Project 31 -

Title: Monastery Recordings - 19/4/08

- RECORDED IN .WAV format.
- Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
- IMA ADPCM Compression

- Converted to MP3 Format (17/8/08)
- Using 128 kBit/s bitrate
- Total File Size: 715 kb

NOTICE: This may be what the game look like. It's not finished or finalized. More feats like examine menus, Keguard Tricks and stuff might be added and there's a chance that Chromegloss will reapproach the voice.

The game's looking real good. 8)

As for the voiceovers. Don't worry, I'll be working to improve them. I think I just went a bit too 'hard-edged' with it perhaps.

Hey Doggy, you needn't include the disclaimer next time. As long as they know it was me who did the voices I'm fine! Whenever I do I project for somebody, I only include the disclaimer so they know when it was recorded and how it was recorded. It's a *professional* touch!

You're fine with me, don't worry. I wouldn't record voicework and then expect you not to use it! :P

As long as I'm mentioned in the credits, I'm fine. :)

Nicely done... you are going to Photoshop a better sky in there though, right?

Actually, who is your artist? And what program are they using? They must have put a lot of work into that scene, but it doesn't really look like a final shot just yet... maybe with a better sky and bumpmaping all the way down the road (meaning the raised stones in the roadway, for those of you who don't do 3D) he/ she could bring up the quality. Also needs more buildings and trees to match the drawing. Still, a very promising start. More so than what I started out with. :)

EDIT: Also, it seems your demo is no longer online. And of course, if you need another 3D guy, I'm here. All of the stuff in that scene could be done in SketchUp.

Glad to see the game is still going. It is not always easy to re-create a 3D image from 2D, so good job to your newfound 3D artist. :)

Our 3d guy is named Erik and isn't registered on these forums.
I know our demo is no longer available, but don't worry it consisted of only two frames, just for the hype, you know...

Thank for your offer, I ll consider :)
