Postby Candle » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:30 pm

You have 30 days from now 2/26/2009 you have to write a story for a game and at the end of the contest I will add a poll and everyone can vote on the best story that should win.
Please add your name here if your going to do this or if not more then one person is going to do it I will cancel it.
And you will win a new Four Port USB Hub.

Good luck everyone.

Got one in the works. Do you mind if I just post it on Google Docs and give you the link? It's already getting long.

Hi Candle,

Could you please share what numbers you are looking for re: participation of the contest? I wanted to participate and submit something, but after reading your message, I don't want to put the time in this weekend if the contest is going to be canceled.

Also, I have always seen in other contests with low turnouts, that they are held anyway because of the effort that the few participants have put in. I've seen it several times where just one person participated and that one person won because they put in the effort to participate.

But that is just my experience with contests and just my $.02.

Cheers. :)

Yikes, and the weekend is basically over for me! :(

Well, I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I can make it.

Thanks! :)

------------[EDIT]-----------------------

BTW, how detailed should this story be? A frame-by-frame representation with game play notations, or an outline/synopsis...enough to convey the story of the game to the reader?

Just curious. :)

Thanks!

Everything with the story is up to you :)
Just remember members will vote on the stories so what you put into it will effect the voting I would think.

Frame by frame with gameplay notations? And here I thought I was almost done! :P

That already sounds impressive, 3D.

Okay, thanks, Candle. :)

But I just got a call that changed my entire week's schedule so now I am concerned about time to submit one. :( But I will still try my best to do so.

So it is due March 26th correct, correct?

Also, what time frame are you using for the deadline - GMT, eastern, pacific, etc.? The only reason why I ask is that if I submit anything, I will be working to the very last minute! ;)

Thanks!

Naaaw! :) The only thing is that I wanted to make sure about any requirements since it is a story for a game rather than a story (like a short story). So I was just checking.... ;) But the way my week is shaping up, I hope I now will have time to submit one. :( But I will try.

Take care!

Well, it's done. It's over four pages in Microsoft works, so I'm going to upload it to Google Docs. You can find it here.

I'm still working on mine. I've got a few more hours by my clock...

Will let you know.

------------[EDIT]------------------------

See, toldya I'd be working t the last minute! :)

Well, unfortunately I had to resort to an outline mode for the last part of the story, but I think you all will still understand it. Hope you can enjoy it either way, though.

I didn't have time to finish my story. I'll finish it and save it for next time. :?

Best of luck to all the contestants! :)

The stories from Zenoc2 and 3DGamer are both great. This is going to be difficult!
