Game unpacking failed

Postby HeliosDenton » Mon Mar 02, 2009 5:09 am

Happens when unpacking is 50% done

"Error unpacking file, out of string space"

And I'm pretty sure no other instances of AM is running

Any solution?

Free or full version of Adventure Maker doesn't matter in this case, because all .am1 files are played with the Adventure Maker Player which is the same for both versions.
I'm not sure what the cause is, is the .am1 file big? Are you able to upack and play other .am1 files? Especially the answer to the second question might give us hints if there is something wrong on your end (with the computer), or if the game file has a problem.

He doesn't say whether or not it's an AM1 file..which is why i asked that..I gathered it was too..but wanted to make sure it was an am1 file and not exe file..:) A person with special characters got an error message like that when trying to unpack either file..for one of my games.

Peace

Yes it's .am1 file, 13M, downloaded from internet. This is the first time I play game made by AM so I can't answer your second question. However I'm using non-english OS so yeah...I see the problem now. Will try it later with OS changed to english.

Thank, both of you :wink:

@Mercedes
Only .am1 files get unpacked :)
Of course there would be a possibility to unpack an .exe file from a .zip or .rar file, but then you probably don't get such an error message, and it would not be an AM problem.

@HeliosDenton
Okay, try it. If it still doesn't work, and you would like one of us check it, let us know the link :)

Ya.. when the user has special characters on their system..they will get errors, with either file...It should work for u, with an English O.S..:)
