Texas Shoot Em - Windows - Using KeyGuard 4!

Texas Shoot Em Shooting Gallery

ImageWindows 7 Compatible

Buzzard Creek, Texas is full of outlaws. It's your job to clean up the town.

Image
Using a Colt 44. It has a small shot pattern, but the recoil is small and its deadly accurate.

Image
Using a shotgun. It has a bigger shot pattern, but the recoil is bigger and its slower.

Image
Using a rifle is more accurate at long distances, but harder for closer targets. It will become more important in the next version.

You have 60 seconds to clean up the streets, then (in future releases you will be automatically sent to other screens to clean them up).

You have the option of using a pistol, shotgun, or rifle.

Great game, reneuend ! :) Can't wait to see it when you are fully done. Very nice concept.

I saw only one thing which may or may not be an issue; when I got into the game I had no real cursor. It was a tiny white dot and I could barely see it. I would like the dot to be a tad bit bigger, though I can understand why you wouldn't want to have a real "cursor" looking cursor (takes away from the ambiance). But just a tad bigger would help me out...but that is a personal preference. :)

Well, looking forward to the update! :)

Great job!

Thanks, 3D! I already have it fixed so you start with the pistol! I'll upload a new version in the next day or 2. It will still be a pre-release because there are other things I want to add before I move on to adding more screens.

- innocent bystanders
- flare from the guns
- smaller recoil

fixed:
- full screen
- use Q to quit, M to go to the menu
- able to replay without gun being behind the objects.
- score is reset to zero on replay

Sorry about the false alarm...I just read your previous message again and saw that you knew about the dot issue.

Thanks! Can't wait for the next release! :D

OMG, I just played it...it is soooo cool!
I love the main page, with the fire, and the music, and the graphics.
I got the small little dot for a cursor too, but I see that you already fixed it.
It's such a cute game; great job!

Hi Reneuend. How innovative! I played the game last night prior to your fixes, but I was impressed.

Hi Reneuend,
I just played again and it's fantastic! I love the gun cursor.
Oh, I realized this time around that I shouldn't have been shooting at everyone, lol, just the bad guy. The first few times I played I was shooting the drunk guy too, lol.
Lots of fun; can't wait to see more!

Thanks Amari and Kat! :)

I have plans to add several more characters that will randomly be displayed. But, you'll still only shoot poor ole Bob. :( The rest are just the townspeople.

KeyGuard4 is amazingly useful. I can't wait to see how others use it. I have several different ideas myself.

Special thanks to ShadowHunter for providing this great plugin! :!: :!:

(EDIT)
I have the rifle working now, but I'm going to wait until I have the rest of the game done before I upload it.

Hi Reneuend,
It's great that you can use Keyguard. I would like to learn how to use it; Particle Plus too. I finally was able to install Particle Plus properly and get it to run on my computer, but I can't run the demo; I get error messages.

Do you think some of the members who use PP and Keyguard will ever make tutorials for the new users, with really super simple instructions, lol?

Anyway, it's great that you know how to use it, and your game looks awesome.

I'm planning on writing step-by-step instructions on using KeyGuard4 for the AM magazine. ShadowHunter keeps making it better, so there will be many articles to follow!

If you have time, I'll write up a step-by-step tutorial and you can test it out before I submit. What do you think? :?:

I'm just barely touching the surface with what this tool (KeyGuard4) can do. I have some big ideas that I hope pan out.

Particle+ is very powerful and while I find it easy to set up, tweaking the settings can be involved. The nice thing is that once you have a setting, you can share it with others!!!

I was hoping to see some things that people came up with with particle+ along with the settings they used to get it. :?

I'll PM you with the tutorial when I get it written in the next couple of days.

That sounds great Reneuend; I hope I can understand it. I'm still getting to know AM, and I've just started reading the VBScript tutorials.
The plugins look great though, and it would be wonderful to learn to use them. I'd love to look at your tutorial.
Thanks,
Kathy
