Cylindrical panorama help

Postby Velorond » Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:55 pm

Hi.
I have the problem that the pointer is always stuck in the middle of my panorama images.
I made them from photos and imported them in 2048x2048 and changed the aspect ratio so the image looked as it should, but im still unable to move the view up and down.

What am i doing wrong?

Hello
What do you mean? Does the panorama render and you can look arround but not move the anchored cursor or it doesn't move at all?

The panorama does render and i can look around horisontaly, but only a little up and down.
I tested to use the same resolution as on the "360 panorama test" that came with the program, but it?s still the same.

So, if I 'm getting this right, we 're talking about cylindrical panorama. The bad thing with those is that they provide a small verical angle. If you want to be able to fully move around, I suggest the newest cubic panorama plugin

I see.
Yeah i was thinking about trying the cubic one, but im unsure how to take the pictures that way.

So there is no way that i could make the pointer move around the screen instead of moving the whole image?
Like in some adventure games you just put the pointer on the edges of the screen to rotate.

There's a pseudo panorama example in the sample projects of KeyGuard plugin that does so. However, its far more difficult programming like that. What you can do if you want the player to be able to move the cursor is send them to a frame that is 2D

As for the cube images, you have to take a screenshot of all 6 sides and then use the tool included with the instructions to compile them to one big picture
