Looking for generalist partner on my little project (3d,etc)

Postby xerilon » Fri Dec 18, 2009 2:42 pm

I am making this little "horror" adventure that needs more staff :)

My project has no name yet, I just call it "Haunted house" for reference.

I am a beginner developer located in Norway, with a little experience in most fields except programming. That's why I find A.M. very useful. I have my own company, and another bigger project boiling in the background, but have the urge to work at a smaller game right now.

The haunted house game will be an hour or two gameplay with only one house with 3-4 rooms. My intention is to create something scary and dark. It will be some standalone puzzles (classic style) and some inventory work.
The size is so small I hope to finish the production way before the summer.

Inspirational movies:
Paranormal Activity, Blair witch proj, and ghost and demons caught on tape on Youtube.
Game inspiration: Classic first person PnC from mid to late 90s, 7th guest, Shivers etc...

Your task:
Provide 3d objects for the interior of the house mostly, maybe some minor coding in the engine (if you can), and open communication about the development in general to make a good product.

My task:
Make the main 3d structure, record sound fx, film real actors on green screen, make website, assemble scenes, make Gui elements, 3d animation, 2d graphics, puzzle design and plot.

What is done already:
Testing of sound recording and green screen filming (success)
Testing Movie sfx overlays in AM (success)
Testing Blending 3d and 2d for better scenes (success)
Plot (done)
Manuscript (in progress)
Puzzle design (in progress)
Main layout of game size in 3d (done)

I want to sell this game for PC, mac and iPod, and I need only one stable artist which I will share 30% of all income (40% if the artist partakes in marketing). I do not have any money now though..

Note that the images are just Alpha screens, which means they are very empty and needs to be filled with objects.

Interesting project.
Unfortunately I know nothing about 3d.
I can always help with coding issues though :)

Nice Project!

Like Lyberodoggy, I can code and draw 2D, but not 3D. :?

There are plenty of 3D artists out here. Hopefully, one of them will step forward!

Keep us updated!

I may be able to help you. This project sounds like it's right up my alley! I'd like some more details, though, on what will be needed. How long of a commitment will this project be? Do you have a list of the items you'll need? Also, what format would you like them in?

My e-mail address is info@unimatrixproductions.com, if you'd like to discuss this. :)
