Dreamstate

Postby Lino » Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:56 am

Hello! Been a while. This is a short little game that took me about a week & a half to make, I'm pretty proud of it, its the second game I've made. :D

Story: You have become trapped in your own dream. In order to awaken, you'll have to navigate a strange world, collecting items & clues along the way.

Nice game so far!
I have downloaded it and started to play, but I get an error as seen in the picture.
I think the reason is that I play it on windows7.

I'm going to test it on my Vista PC later on and let you know if the error's only on WIN7.

I'm getting that error, too (on Vista).
As I look at the available media, it seems that this video is indeed missing from the compiled project.

Hmmm, currently stuck on the code panel (the buttons). I have the clues I think, but don't understand how to apply them.

EDIT
Nevermind, got it, and finished :D

Apart from that little error, I haven't found any issues.
Maybe you could add a hotspot on the final screen to exit the game, players might not find the right click and exit option.

You did a great job! I enjoyed the game. It has a dreamy mysterious atmosphere, the choice of the music is very well. The artwork is simple but very nice, and fits the theme. The puzzles are logical.
Congrats! :D

(P.S. Please post when you have fixed the error, I'd be happy to post your game on a game forums)

Ok! So I can try to finish the game on my WIN7 PC :)

By the way, there's no sound with WIN7. Perhaps you can compile the game with the new version of AM so that WIN7 users also have sound.

You can find it here:

Edit:

I'm also stuck at the panel.Do I need sound to solve it?[/b]

No, you don't need sound.
What you need are the hints from an image and 2 notes :)

If you put together the torn notes, the letters and numbers correspond to the buttons. Do you see that?
Now apply the hint from the image (letter=letter; dots= number).
Does this help?
If not, then let me know and I PM you a bigger hint :)

Thanks guys! I'm fixing the error right now, instead of using a video, I can achieve the same thing easier just with fading into frames. I'll post when its done!

Glad you liked it. :D

I've taken out the video completely, but you get the same effect without it. I also added a hotspot to exit the game. I've just updated the link. :)

Nice little game including creative puzzles and a good atmosphere. The only thing I`ve missed is a story behind the game. And dreams can have really interesting stories, we all know that. ;) By the way I like the dream-subject.

By the way which graphics program did you use?

I personally didn't miss the story in the dream, it was clear what to do, and that was enough for me

It was relaxing, and I got completely immersed into that dream world - a real moment of relaxation while playing the game :D

OK, thanks. We also use blender in our game in progress, together with Vue (not a adventure-maker-game!).
