Is this product dead?

Postby adelwich » Wed Oct 20, 2010 2:17 pm

Hi,

I have been trying to fold Adventure Maker in as an option in a course on transmedia storytelling, but have been saddened by the lack of activity in these forums. On Monday, when a student tried to install the Windows 7 version on a lab computer, our antivirus software claimed that the AM executable contained malware (see my more specific post in the technical support forums).

One would think that a posting about the software potentially containing malware would prompt an immediate response from concerned developer. The silence on this issue, combined with the mood elsewhere in the forums, leads me to suspect that the person who created this product has no desire to continue supporting it.

Can anyone point me toward official communication from the developer about the future plans for this product?

I too have been trying unsucessfully to contact an "authority".
It would seem as if you are correct and any support is now quite dead.
A pity really but one can understand considering the day to day expenses.

It was great that the founders of this site gave away a very nice program and backed it up with some wonderful tutes.
I do thank them and the other folk who gave so much.
Hopefully I'm wrong and things will start up again.
I'm sill having fun with the HTML output..( see Educational Games) and
Windows7 problems of course do not show up.

I do hope,Adelwich, that others will be able to answer your query on the malware.
I haven't come across that one.
All the best.. :)

The support is you :D

Seriously, I'd like to see that the developer either continues updating and supporting this product or makes a nice end-of-life announcement.

For me, Adventure Maker is not dead. I have the free version installed and try stuff with it occasionally.

Gumbro,
Have you got an answer for Adelwich ?
Support is one thing but an answer would be better.
That is why this Forum is DEAD.
lack of interest= lack of support= lack of interest.

For the 'malware' issue, see the technical support thread.

Guys. I've been here for a ~~didn't mean to swear~~ of a long time... trust me on this one...

The maker/owner of AM goes under the name of GM-Support, and he just recently posted that he's coming out with a Windows 7 compatiable version within a few months... GM has always been very quiet but shows his face when needed..

And with the malware issue, my Vista laptop always freaked out with AM, thinking it contained trojans, trust me, it doesn't, my computer is still running like 3+ years later..
