importing character and making them move in game

Postby dbuske » Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:58 pm

I have the free version of AM.
I can't seem to find how to import a character (20 walking sprites) and get it to move in the game.
The tutorials don't seem to mention that.
I am making a 3d adventure game

That article does not say anything about importing a new character into the game. It just talks about the human character already provided by the game.

The plugin description says:
If you wish to change the appearance of the sprite, as well as the speed and other options, go to the "Plugins" tab of the PROJECT PROPERTIES, select the "Third Person Plugin", and then click "Configure the selected plugin...". A customization window will pop up.

I have never created custom sprites, but I'm pretty sure that you must follow the naming conventions in the Human or Robot Sprite folder in order to be able to use the plugin with your own sprites.
I'm not sure if you have to replace the sprites in one of the folders, or if it would be possible to create a 3rd folder.
I only created first person games so far.
