RPG turn combat style

Postby albalustro » Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:02 pm

Hello everyone.
I think I need a help to build a system that would work how this spec above:

1. The are severals enemies in the game (hotspot with figures of a monster on a frame).
2. These enemies have a counter whit a value that represents your life (as well the player).
3. The player use a item (sword) on the monster and this trigger the combat system.
4. Then, randomly is defined if the player or the monster was hit - who was hit, takes the damage and lose X points of life.
If the life of the monster reaches zero, he was defeated, as well, if is the player, game over.

Thanks

I would suggest starting with something simple first. Learn how to work with hotspots. Then move on to the more complicated things like scoreboards and life meters. But definitely start simple! This way you can learn and master specific tasks instead of trying to build a complex game right from the start.

Sure. You absolutly right and I agree 100% with you.
I use the AM about 5 years and I already maked a few simple games and some PoCs. But I never use the VB scripts to make anything more complexity.
I've just wondering about the possibilities to make something how I described.

Anyway, thanks.

It is possible to have a turn-based rpg made with AM but it requires a good comprehension of the scripting language
