Solved: Unable to hide or move a hotspot

Postby reneuend » Tue May 15, 2012 11:36 pm

background image: room with no door
hotspot(1): door
hotspot(2): transparent
-Advanced Tab/Script:
action.loadapicture hotspot(1), ""
KGS Polygon(1): around the doorway

Intended action: when the user clicks on the door, it disappears.

I've tested using Action.Message "test" in place of the loadapicture command and it worked fine, but for some reason, KGS doesn't work manipulating hotspots. Has someone tried this?

Hello reneuend,

When using KeyGuard you need the KeyGuard commands to manipulate hotspots since the background and hotspots are merged to one image to allow rendering of text and hint icons on top.

You should use:

MakeHotSpotTransparent Action.GetHotSpotNumber

See the help document 11.8.11

Please let me know if this solves the issue.

great! thanks!

That fixed it! Nice...Now I can build my first KGS tutorial. I just need a capture software that displays the cursor and an inventory object when you drag it.

Hi reneuend,

Looking forward to see the first tutorial, I hope people will see how easy and powerful KeyGuard has become. I wish I had more time to create some YouTube clips aswell... good to have you arround :D

BTW: I'm pretty sure Camtasia captures the cursor (option)
