NEW Adventure Maker v4.7.1 released!

Postby GM-Support » Sun Nov 11, 2012 1:04 am

Dear AM users and forum members,

I am pleased to announce that the new version 4.7.1 of Adventure Maker has been released!

You can download it (16MB) from:
http://www.adventuremaker.com/files/adv ... v4_7_1.exe

The new features since v4.7.0 are:

  • Support for systems with "large fonts" (greater DPI display) up to 125 %. This is very important because recent versions of Windows use "Large Fonts" automatically when Windows is installed on a system with a high-resolution screen. This support applies to both the AM editor and the created games. Your users will no longer get the annoying "Your system is set to Large Fonts, please change this setting" message.
  • A new option was added to the Project Properties to let the player switch between "Full-screen" mode and "Windowed" mode during game play.
  • A new option was added to the Project Properties to hide the mouse cursor when a video is playing.
  • A new option was added to the Project Properties to prevent players from being able to skip videos by clicking. Note that this option does not apply to "Looping Videos". Also note that when this option is checked, it is still possible to skip videos by pressing the Esc key.
  • Fixed an issue that caused videos not to be resized properly.
  • Improved reliability of the audio system.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused non-looping sounds to loop. This happened when a non-looping sound was played on the same channel as a previously looping sound.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused music to restart instead of going on. This happened when the player visited a frame multiple times, and that frame had a fade-in music in its Frame Froperties.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused a sound to be ignored while another sound was being played on the same channel.

For other recently added features (the list of changes between v4.6.1 and v4.7.0), please read this other topic.

I hope you will enjoy this new release!

This is probably the version of Adventure Maker that is the most compatible with recent versions of Windows so far.

Best regards,

Hmmm...I'll take a look at it and see what I can do...If I can't get to the code, there may be nothing I can do. However, I have used ShadowHunter's KeyGuard to do a similar trick with animated mouse pointers.

UPDATE: I was unable to open the OCX file in VB6. On the MSDN forums, I read its not possible, but I'm not so sure. At any rate, you can do a similar effect using KeyGuard. I did it in an experimental project, called "get out of the dark". The key to making the image cursor working correctly is the mask that you build. I can't remember if I built a tutorial on this or not. But you can review the KeyGuard documentation on image cursors and masking. I'll see if I can find anything I might have written about it.

Didn't Simon have it working with his game? I wonder if you have the latest version of cubic panorama.

Hi,
Any news with allowing videos to be stretched to 'larger than the original'?
