First game attempt

Postby Paul.S » Fri May 06, 2016 7:04 pm

Hello guys, I'm finally able to show you some screens from my work in progress game, Darkest Abyss. A Lovecraftian tale of horror set in a deserted outpost that conceals a terrible evil. Got some screenshots of the first locations for you :-) took me ages to get this far. More as it gets finished!

New image! Took a while to work out the particulars, but on entering the correct code the lights will indicate whether youre right or not, then the handle beneath will open the door. Pretty pleased with how this has turned out :-)

I will indeed have a demo, I am working on it now. I have 3 more areas to complete for it to be ready. The finished game will differ from the demo though, so those who play it won't be able to just breeze through the early areas of the game :-)

Well it has taken far too long so far but the game is finally starting to take on its final form. All the music and sound effects are finished, final assembly of the demo is underway. Can anyone suggest a good place to share it? I want to get it available to as many people as possible.

It must be a nice feeling to have a completed project! Do you have a download link yet?
The Facebook page for AdventureMaker is a good start as well as the new game forums here. If you ar ed selling it, you could try bigfish.com. there is an indie games site, but don't have the information in front of me. I think there is a post about this somewhere this forum.

Good job!

I'll post back when I get a chance to look it up.

I don't have the demo finished just yet, just assembling the last few bits and pieces and running it through some thorough playtesting to iron out the major bugs. Any minor bugs that show up will be fixed for the main game when it's done. I'll keep you posted n when the demo will be available and where. Thank's for the suggestion, I shall investgate further!

I think I'm going to have to switch to a different game engine. I am getting so many glitches that I have to work around that I'm spending more time finding work arounds than actually building my game. Does anyone know if AM is going to receive any more updates? It needs it badly.

Hi Paul, it is sure that reneuend know about the updates, really I wish you good luck
if you used AM or another game engine, but I still love this forums, and wish all of
you stay posting here :)
Best regards and good luck..

I've looked at other game engines, but so far haven't been satisfied with what I've found. Unity would be great, but the price is ridiculous.
