Windows Vista Support

Postby dk627 » Sun Jun 04, 2006 11:40 pm

I was reading an article titled "Top 20 reasons to hate windows vista"
one of the reasons was that programs can no longer write to the registry
will adventure maker be compatible with vista when its released?
also, will any of my games that i have created it be compatible?
just wandering so i can "brace myself" for any problems

Hi,

My first impression using Adventure Maker v4.2.0 under Vista is that both the program and the games created with it work fine, except for a few points that I will try to fix asap.

The most noticeable point is the following: in order to install Adventure Maker or any game created with it, you need to launch the setup file with administrator privileges. To do so, right-click on the setup file, and then click "Run as administrator". If you do not do that, you will get several error messages during the installation process, saying that you do not have the authorization to copy some system files.

Best regards,

Do you think you will be able to get around the Administrator issue so that folks won't have to "Run as administrator"?

Hmmm.... Very interesting!

Sounds like we don't get panic. It will work just fine in Vista. I know what GM-Support is doing and how smart he is. He is very very good developer. He can do anything to fix it.
