creepy brycean cottage

Postby AncientRein » Sun Oct 22, 2006 9:31 pm

since its been so quiet around here i thought i would post somethin.
heres a little creepy cottage im workin on.

maybe 10% done.
you can actually get some realistic renders in bryce but this has a ways
to go. the sky required alot of tweakin to get it to look real.
good textures of course make a big difference. i imported
a couple of lathe objects for the tower made in real3d
ill post more as it progresses. needs windows , trim , chim.
terrain mods etc etc.

cheers

Nice

It's nice, however if you develop it further and add a nice scenery, it will be absolutely beautiful. The textures are amazing, if it's not an inpolite question, where did you get them?

That looks really good, are you going to add a Graveyard and maybe a fence?

Thanks

Postby Harvester » Wed Oct 25, 2006 3:25 pm

Thanks for the link, really great stuff can be found there. Before I used mainly 256*256 textures taken from Dark Basic...
I've almost finished my current job (not AM, it's something like an animationflim-comic mixture like in Max Payne... propably I will post something from that later, now it's only in Hungarian and I guess not many people would understand it here due to this), so next time propably I will use some textures from here. Thanks again.

Textures

Postby Harvester » Sat Oct 28, 2006 8:21 pm

It's nicer and nicer by every steps. Just wondering why does the chimney, the walls and the tower have different textures. I think in real life not many buildings are built like this, they are from one or two materials, but not 3 kinds of bricks. I think the texture on the chimney is the odd-one.

yeh , candle is right the chim is red brick.
the roof is shingled as is the tower.
the top of the tower uses a tile type texture.
i was loosely following a photo of a ugly old house
but improvised as well. when the scene is finished
with trees and terrains ill probably still tweak it some.
maybe the tiles on the top of the tower should be a
grungie greenish. Its great to create , aint it? !

cheers

I like it, good job! If the scenery will be also nice (and I know it will be), then it will be a very impressing picture.

Fantastic! I like it's atmosphere, and it is very nice as a picture. If only I could make anything like this... :(
