Just a last question (or I hope this will be my last): I understand that nudity and things like that are not tolerated in the contest, but I would like to know how much blood is acceptable in this case

~Love to~

Postby Harvester » Thu Apr 26, 2007 9:18 pm

~Love to~, more and more questions come to my mind :)
1.) You mentioned it can be first/third person... am I right that 360degree panorama belongs to first person and is okay?
2.) Is a demo or episode enough or should it be a complete story?
3. ) I don't know much about PG rating, so could you tell me if use of drugs and alcohol is acceptable or not? This is the quite an important fact due to my game idea... :?

Joining the contest, I'm sure you will like the game, even if it is short. Oh yeah, and the 2 rooms are the different islands.

The game is a little simple so I'll let the puzzles be solved, a walkyhrough would kill the 3 minutes it takes to play.

Oh well before I get on creating, is it allowed to get someone else to do graphics and you do just setting the game up & the story, or I have to create it all alone? :o

"Missionary Man" is entering the competition

Postby Rooster » Sat Jun 02, 2007 10:51 pm

We are hereby entering the AdventureMaker competition through our demo of the game ?Missionary Man?

In order for the game to run smoothly you should have 1 Gig RAM even though it?s still playable with less.

The demo consists of six ?rooms? a number of dialogues and outdoor scenery. All in all over 50 frames. The demo consists of the first chapter of the game, and even though it?s quite big, it?s approx. just a 10th of the total plot.

We have focused not on the graphics and sound, but on the plot and puzzles.

It?s a 3rd person game using simple 2D graphics.

The plot:

Zeke, our hero, who lives upstairs at the Rooster pub is broke. As if that wasn?t bad enough, he?s out of credit, he owes Big Al a lot of money, and his landlord, the despotic Sam, tries to find a reason to kick him out of his room. Suddenly, Zeke (who is really a good guy), gets an opportunity to create his own luck, which turns out not to be the smartest thing he?s ever done.

We have tailor made a lot of functions to be able to develop the game the way we want to, which hopefully will significantly increase the pace, developing the rest of the game.

Everything is developed within AdventureMaker using VBScript.

Features

Tailor made
? Inventory
? 3rd person functionality
? Dialogue handling
? Multiple text lines

We hope you enjoy playing our demo!

It?s not over until ?To be continued? is printed on the screen? ;-)

In order to solve all the puzzles, make sure that you talk to everyone and examine everything, as for any other adventure game.
